Stony Point Barn 10-11-24
Another dance at Stony Point Barn. I was really excited for this dance as I had shot the dance in May. The photos turned out great, but some behind the scenes info; there were a ton of people the first 4 or 5 dance numbers. I had very little room to move, so I was relegated to the corners. After that, people began to rotate in and out, so there was a nice balance of those talking and chatting and those dancing. It got easier as the evening went on as I had more room to maneuver.
The other difficulty was that I had my ISO on my D500 set too high and the pictures were very grainy/flat colors. So, I had to make some editing choices that I think wound up working in the end. It was a mistake on my part, but it had me think of editing the photos in a different manner.
Things that went well? Well, my wife and son had a great time and you’ll see that in some of the photos. The other thing was that I got myself a dual camera harness, which was an absolute game changer. Being able to have both cameras at my side made shooting way easier and I was able to get more chances at capturing great moments. I hope you all enjoy.
