LBDA New York Elementary 08-10-24
The last time I photographed the Lawrence Barn Dance Association, that was back in May for their dance at Stony Point (click to see photos). June and July, we were visiting family on both ends of the coast when the LBDA had their dances. Thankfully we were in town for their dance in August and it was great to see everyone again. We saw familiar faces, some new ones, and some unexpected faces.
I am really getting a hang of capturing contra dance and also adapting to dance photography in general. I am leaning more towards fast prime lenses, meaning lenses that don’t zoom and whose aperture can open as wide as possible to gather in the most amount of light. After all, I am shooting pretty fast to freeze the subjects in motion, so the more light I can get into the camera, the better the images will turn out. I think the images this time around came out fantastic. Please feel free to take a glimpse.
